On Tuesday, the second day of nomination for the Lok Sabha elections in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Pooja Amrohi from BSP filed nominations from Agra Lok Sabha seat and Ramniwas Sharma from Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha constituency. Apart from this, three independents also filed papers.
Upazila Election Officer Anup Kumar said that three nomination forms were purchased from Agra reserved seat and two nomination papers were purchased from Fatehpur Sikri seat. In this way a total of five nomination papers were purchased. At the same time, first of all BSP candidate from Agra Lok Sabha seat Pooja Amrohi reached Valmiki Vatika with her selected supporters. After garlanding the statue of Lord Valmiki here, she reached the Collectorate along with her proposer Ravindra Paras and other BSP leaders. Along with this, BSP candidate from Fatehpur Sikri Ramniwas Sharma also filed his nomination.
Nominations will not be filed today
Deputy District Election Officer said that due to Ram Navami holiday on 17th, nomination papers will not be filed. April 19 is the last date for filing nominations. After this, investigation will be held till 20th April and withdrawal of nominations will be held on 22nd. Voting will take place on May 7.
